Oil Tests

WEAR METAL Analysis.Analyses concentration of wear elements.
VISCOSITY Test.Measured automatically in Centistokes at 40 and 100 degrees centrigarde
FT-IR Test. For engine oil.Detects soot, oxidation, nitration and sulfur products/acids. Also detects contamination by water, fuel and glycol from coolant.
PARTICLE QUANTIFIER (PQ)Test. Results are based on the ferrous particle contamination. If the results are high then further tests/examinations may be made to determine large metal particle presence.
MICROSCOPIC EXAMINATION.This is linked to the PQ test.
FUEL Test.Automatically done on all diesel engine oil analysis. Percentage of fuel present is done by identifying the flash point.
ANTIFREEZE Test. For all water cooled compartments.
CRACKLE TEST. Pre water test by hot plate heat application. Used prior to other water tests.
WATER Test. For all samples to deternmine the presence of water, This can then be identified as coolant or from external/internal condensation etc.
TBN Test.Routine for all gas engines.
PARTICLE Count.Reported in ISO count. For all oils related to hydraulic applications and transmissions.
KARL FISCHER MOISTURE Test.Determines the precise % amount of water present.
MAGNETIC Test.If a sample is found to have high levels of metal contamination this test is used to identify the source/origin.
